Jazz at LACMA 2023 will once again feature the best in Jazz music with sensational free concerts every Friday at 6PM until next November. Presented on the Smidt Welcome Plaza with Chris Burden’s iconic “Urban Lights” installation framing the stage, this celebration of Jazz music is the perfect kick for your weekend. The whole atmosphere is joyous and fun, with a great eclectic mix of people. Dancers, hipsters, parents with kids in tow, no matter what your age, color, degree of cool, this is one of the finest community events anywhere.

Over its three decade run at the museum, Jazz at LACMA has highlighted L.A.’s finest jazz musicians and has featured such legends as Wayne Shorter, The Yellow Jackets, Quincy Jones, Arturo Sandoval, Billy Childs, Tierney Sutton and many more. Director of Music at LACMA, Mitch Glickman, continues this tradition with a stellar line up for 2023.

Seating for the program is available in the museum’s plaza on a first come basis or bring a picnic (yes, alcohol is allowed so bring your favorite vino) and enjoy a perfect end of the week with live jazz and treats on the grass. Don’t feel like packing a picnic? Ray’s is a full-service restaurant on the plaza or grab a cocktail and snacks at the adjacent Stark Bar which features a dynamic craft cocktail program.
