Ysabel restaurant and lounge is a hidden architectural treasure nestled in West Hollywood. After entering through an unmarked corridor off Fairfax Avenue, we encounterd an al fresco lounge area and a wide marble staircase offering tiered bench seating and an elevated alcove. The restaurant radiates a romantic and luxurious ambiance and it’s a cool space to get the evening started. The central patio, flanked by two bars, beckons with light-strewn trees and candlelit tables.
The menu offers bold yet bright flavor profiles with an emphasis on organic produce with the highest quality ingredients. We started off the night with a delicious take on brussel sprouts that were lightly crisped with raisins, mint, and kimchee sauce. After such a delicious start we knew the rest to follow would be a treat. The Mediterranean meatballs with sesame yogurt and toasted garlic bread was next and the cherry on the top was my favorite. The pan roasted scallops with baby bok choy, lemongrass in a lightly spiced thom kha broth was amazing! An Eclectic and flavorful cuisine was enjoyed at this beautiful oasis. I plan on returning to try out the brunch and to see what else Ysabel has with which to delight my taste buds!
