Wilshire’s Filet Mignon Tacos

“Meet me at Wilshire” may become my new motto after our fabulous lunch there recently. We had such a good time in the restaurant but I want to go back to enjoy some time on their lovely patio! I can picture myself now, on a warm summer night, sipping a craft cocktail under the sparkling string lights with the full moon above… but I digress!

From the moment we sat, our waiter Eugenio was cracking us up.  Such a character and ready to take on our menu questions!  The entire staff actually was quite friendly and fun.  I insisted we start with the Artisanal Cheese Board ~ a lovely assortment of cheeses, toasted nuts, spiced honey, apples and berries. The apprentice sommelier then insisted we try some pairing wines and brought us a sample flight. Bliss. Of course we had to try the Tuna Tartare, which was melt in your mouth fresh with a hint of ginger. The Farro Salad was recommended and rightfully so! Very much like your favorite Greek salad with an arugula twist!  The Filet Mignon Tacos were as tender as could be with chunks of avocado and pico de gallo in house made tortillas.

There were many divine dessert choices but the Flourless German Chocolate Cake with Nutella ice cream and chocolate sauce won. Yes that’s right! I said Nutella ice cream. Need I say more?
