Sirena Restaurant, the new hot spot in the heart of LA, has taken over the former space of Pane e Vino—fondly remembered for having one of the best outdoor dining patio in town. Sirena, which means “mermaid” in Italian, has been rejuvenated courtesy of owners Peter Garland (Porta Via) and Michael Sutton (Guys & Dolls). Pairing with Chef Sandy Gendal (Pace Restaurant), Sirena’s fare is a Mediterranean, olive oil based menu with all organic produce, fresh seafood, and grass fed, hormone free meats.

All breads and pastas are homemade on premise in their custom designed wood-burning oven, which is the soul of the kitchen. They offer an impressive antipasti plate tasty enough for the Soprano family! The Chopped Vegetable Salad, features organic greens, fresh mozzarella, olives, garbanzo beans, and zucchini, tossed with a red wine and vinaigrette dressing, was so fresh and crispy. The Chicken Milanese, served with roasted asparagus and carrots, was really delicious as well.

We then had the Wood Fired Baked Rigatoni Bolognese made with homemade meat sauce and fresh mozzarella, which was full flavored and very filling. Unfortunately, we never made it to the Wood Fired Pizza. We’ll save that for another visit. Sirena’s beautiful patio, wonderful menu, amazing wine list and great service definitely deserves a visit. They also feature “Bottomless Mimosa Brunch & Lunch” for two from $55. Check it out!

Sirena is located at 8265 Beverly Boulevard in West Hollywood. For reservations, call (323) 852-7000.
