Along Highland Avenue in the heart of Los Angeles lies Pizzeria Mozza, where I love to cozy up to the pizza bar and watch all the wood fired magic happen! Many flock to Mozza for its marvelous Neapolitan inspired pies—some say the Speck, Bufala Mozzarella and Olive Tapenade is speck-tacular! Meat lovers will devour the Bacon, Salami, Fennel Sausage, Guanciale and Tomato pizza. The salad of choice to pair with either has Little Gem lettuces, dates, red onions and gorgonzola.

Exotic antipasti are aplenty on the Mozza menu, among the must-try offerings are the Arancine Alla Bolognese and Fried Squash Blossom bliss with Ricotta.  At the top of the list are the Meatballs Al Forno topped with fresh baked bread, perfect for dipping in delicious marinara—a mini mouthwatering meal in itself!

Mozza’s desserts are all innovatively beautiful crafted by co-owner Nancy Silverton who was once named Pastry Chef of the Year. This partnership with restaurateur Mario Batoli and culinary master Joe Bastianich is divine and will have us coming back to explore and tantalize for many years to come.

Pizzeria Mozza is located at 641 N Highland Avenue.  For reservations, call (323) 297-0101.
