To be totally honest with you, I must admit that the Junkyard Café of Simi Valley is a mess. The decor can best be described as trashy. After passing by a variety of old kitchen appliances i.e., stoves, tubs, etc., you finally reach the entrance where it gets even worse. When you are seated, either in the bar or in one of the three dining sections, you are presented with a 26-page menu. I suggest you take the time to read it as it’s thoroughly enjoyable and quite funny. That seems to be the theme of the Junkyard — fun. And lively. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily. The assortment of selections run the gamut from Italian to Greek to good old bacon and eggs. On the 17th of every month, corn beef and cabbage rules!

The food is always tasty, the portions generous, and the servers are pleasant. Since the restaurant is divided into sections, it works well for larger individual groups. I could write for hours about the bar. While the decor is funky, It’s always a crowd pleaser. Name any drink and they have it or will make it.

The Junkyard Café is located at 2585 Cochran Street in Simi Valley. Hours are Monday-Sunday, 7am to 10pm. Happy hours are Monday-Friday from 2pm to 6pm. Reservations are accepted at (805) 520-5865.
