I was quite impressed with The Church Key’s delightfully quirky and whimsical approach to fine dining. The lively atmosphere is sophisticated and trendy, yet comforting and inviting. The modernized interior and decor, with rustic tables and vintage accents, creates a unique ambience.

I went for brunch and found it to be tasty and fun. My Sunday “Funday” group of friends started off by indulging in bottomless mimosas for only $15.  “How can they be bottomless?” you ask.  “Doesn’t that defy the laws of physics?”

All nine of us enjoyed our meals tremendously, devouring everything from, Jeffrey’s Biscuits & Gravy, house made chicken sausage and sunny side up eggs. The real stand out was the Toad in the Hole Croque Madame which consisted of a thick slice of brioche with two delectable runny eggs nestled inside, topped by a bit of melted cheese, gruyere fondue, and crumbled pieces of smoked bacon. Yum.

It’s easy to see why this place was a semi-finalist on Tom Colicchio’s BRAVO show, Best New Restaurant. Executive Chef Steve Fretz’s food is inventive, creative, and irresistible.

The Church Key is located at 8730 Sunset Blvd. in W. Hollywood.
