Palm Springs has been described as “a sparkling arts mecca” and an “art oasis in the desert.” The city has evolved into a vibrant arts and cultural destination and it will host the 2015 edition of the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair this month. There will be an Opening Night Preview on February 12 promising a glamorous night of art, wine and hearty hors d’ oeuvres and a public opening on Friday February 14 continuing through February 15.

Scheduled over the extended President’s Day Weekend and coinciding with Palm Springs Modernism Week, the two events will turn this desert oasis into a cultural hub where art aficionados can mingle with collectors and gallery owners from around the world.

Showcasing over 60 renowned galleries ranging from Los Angeles, Santa Fe, New York, Argentina, Ireland and Belgium, and 2,500 important works, The Palm Springs Fine Art Fare will offer a rare opportunity for the region’s second-home owners, art loving snowbirds, and weekend visitors to experience the very best in post-war and contemporary art. The fair will highlight a stunning array of special events, including video and performance art, a speaker series, print pavilion, and a very cool “sketch aquarium” installation where the colorful sea creatures children have created on paper come to life in a virtual sea.

Featured events will include a silent auction for a 1999 Jennifer Bartlett print benefiting the Palm Springs Art Museum, and an artist spotlight, “Ride-Em-Copter” with Steven Maloney in the Collectors Lounge.
