I’m so excited for a new TV movie on the Lifetime channel! Go figure! The Hallmark and Lifetime Channel’s Christmas films are my pet peeve. They usually irritate me! But Ladies of the ‘80s: A Divas Christmas has totally sparked my interest. Do you know who shot JR (Dallas’ Larry Hagman)?! I do! I will never forget that it was “the mistress.” In the ‘80s, nighttime soap operas on television were all the rage. More the rage were the divas who ruled that world! This month, they have reunited for a fun-filled holiday special, Ladies of the ‘80s.
The movie features a bevy of legends from this era, including Donna Mills (Knots Landing), Nicollette Sheridan (Knots Landing, Desperate Housewives), Linda Gray (Dallas), Loni Anderson (WKRP in Cincinnati), Morgan Fairchild (Friends, Falcon Crest, The Seduction), and Christopher Atkins (The Blue Lagoon). They are joined by youngsters Travis Burns (A Christmas Princess), and Taylor Ann Thompson (Black Girl Missing, The Bucket List).
The premise is familiar, as it sets up the ladies to do what they do best —being the decadent divas they are known for portraying. In this Lifetime movie, they are getting together for one last holiday-themed episode of their fictional legendary soap series. For anyone who loves nostalgia, it’s super fun!
