All eyes are on Paris in anticipation of this year’s Summer Olympics.

The Gymnastics team, always a USA favorite, includes long-time competitor and history-maker Simone Biles. At 27, Biles will be the oldest female gymnast for the United States team since 1952, and is only the fourth female gymnast to compete in three Olympics.

Katie Ledecky will rejoin the USA swim team for her fourth Olympic appearance; she made her Olympic debut at just 15 years old in the 2012 London Olympics and shows no signs of stopping. Caeleb Dressel, a USA sprint swimmer who has drawn comparisons to legend Michael Phelps, will also be in attendance after winning 5 gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Games.

Track, a hotly contested sport, will no doubt be at the forefront of the news cycles this year. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, a Jamaican sprinter commonly referred to as the “Pocket Rocket” due to her diminutive 5’3” stature, has announced that this will be her last Olympic games. Sha’Carri Richardson, a 2020 USA Olympic hopeful who was disqualified for marijuana usage, will return to the track as well, now with a 2023 World Champion win under her belt. In men’s track, USA’s “fastest man in the world” Noah Lyles contends to win his first Olympic medals.

The 2024 Paris Olympics are sure to be unmissable.
