If it seems like Superhero movies are produced like Hershey’s Kisses on a conveyor belt, being pumped out faster than they can be consumed, you are not alone. That is why when a different kind of film in the genre comes along audiences and critics take notice. Enter Glass.

Written, co-produced and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, this latest movie comes on the heels of his two previous films Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2016). Taken together they have come to be known as the Unbreakable series. While sometimes controversial, Shyamalan hit the mark with box office and critics alike with these two films, with every expectation that Glass will do so as well. While still neatly fitting into the superhero/supervillain genre, there is something that is expectedly darker about this series, which can only be anticipated given its creator.

Reprising their roles in this latest installation are Bruce Willis (David Dunn / The Overseer), Samuel L. Jackson (Elijah Bruce / Mr. Glass), Spencer Treat Clark (Joseph Dunn), and Charlayne Woodward (Mrs. Price), all from Unbreakable. James McAvoy (Kevin Wendell Crumb / The Horde, consisting of 24 personalities) is also returning in his chilling previous role from Split alongside his costar from that film, Anya Taylor-Joy (Casey Cooke). Joining them all is phenom Sarah Paulson (Dr. Ellie Staple) and Adam David Thompson (Daryl Pierce).

Glass opens nationwide on January 18th.
