Diane Rosenstein Fine Art is pleased to present a group exhibition of ten recent graduates from the Yale University School of Art MFA program in Photography. Deep End: Yale MFA Photo 2014 features the work of Awol Erizku, Erin Desmond, Genevieve Gaignard, Hannah Hummel, Fumi Ishino, Casey McGonagle, Tyler Moore, Hannah Price, Billie Stultz, and Evan Whale.

The MFA Photo program at Yale University is committed to a broad definition of photography as a lens-based medium open to a variety of expressive means. A critique panel composed of faculty, artists, and critics, including Gregory Crewsdon, Philip-Lorca diCorcia and John Pilson, meet weekly to discuss students’ work. The artists participating in this exhibition will present a wide range of work, including photographs, video, sound installation, textiles, sculpture, performance and mixed media.

Deep End is curated by New York based artist and fellow classmate Awol Erizku, who received his BFA from The Cooper Union New York and his MFA in photography from the Yale University School of Art. Photographer, filmmaker and sculptor, Awol Erizku strives to mollify what he perceives as a marked absence of people’s color throughout the canon of art history, integrating contemporary symbols with a provocatively allusive sensibility and aesthetic.

Deep End: Yale MFA Photo 2014 runs through August 23 at Diane Rosenstein Fine Art, located at 831 N. Highland Ave.
