Grammy winner Sara Bareilles will be performing at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
Bareilles rose to fame with her 2007 hit “Love Song”, which spent 19 weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 upon its release. Since then, she’s sold over 3 million albums and 15 million singles, released a total of 6 solo albums and several soundtracks, and become a decorated star of stage and screen.
Bareilles’ Tony-Award nominated musical Waitress, based on the 2007 movie of the same name, has enjoyed several national tours, a Grammy nomination, and a multitude of glowing critical reviews. Bareilles herself joined the cast and starred as main character Jenna both pre- and post-COVID, with reviews calling her performance “breathtaking” and “incredible”. She has also stepped onstage as the Baker’s Wife in the 2022 Into the Woods revival and Mary Magdalene in 2018’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert.
Opening the performance is Broadway icon Renée Elise Goldsberry, best known for originating the role of Angelica in Hamilton. Goldsberry will be performing a mix of Broadway, jazz, and gospel, drawing from her multiple strong suits as an entertainer. Goldsberry and Bareilles currently star together in Girls5eva, a Peacock series following a fictional one-hit wonder girl group who reunites following a viral sample to chase their dreams once more.
