The Greek is in the midst of a blockbuster summer, in case you didn’t know. The venue, on its own, is worth the visit. Show up, buy a ticket to whoever is playing that night, and you’re bound to have a great time. Not that any of us live our lives that way, but imagine if you did…in the month of August, you’ll be hard pressed to find a name that never crossed your mind to hear live.
If you rolled up in the beginning of the month, August 2nd or 3rd, you’d have a nice evening out with John Legend. And if his voice isn’t silky enough for you, on the 4th Norah Jones will be taking the stage. So far you can’t miss, right?
The 6th will feature The Gaslight Anthem, and if you say you’re not interested, you’re crazy and no one will believe you. But go ahead, wait a night or two, and you’ll encounter two totally different genres totally worthy of box office roulette: Charley Crockett, who will be galloping through on his $10 Cowboy Tour on the 9th, or Mr. Good Time himself, Jon Batiste on the 10th. If you haven’t seen him live, then you’re missing out.
What about some folk music you say? Just show up either the 17th or 18th—the Kingston Trio are up both nights. Nothing says summer like a hot night and some banjo favorites under a full moon. Then it is the Beach Boys, Lainey Wilson, Thievery Corporation…I mean, just come by when your schedule permits—the Greek delivers!
