Master of plot twists, M. Night Shyamalan, is back after last year’s fabulous apocalyptic horror, Knock at the Cabin Door. The director/producer/screenwriter’s latest scarefest, Trap, follows a dad named Cooper who accompanies his teenage daughter, Riley, to a pop concert for fictional singer Lady Raven.  The one catch? Cooper is a serial killer, and the entire event is an elaborate sting operation for the police to arrest him.

The plot twists are revealed early in Trap, but that doesn’t mean that there are not more mind games to come from the director who brought us The Sixth Sense. The script is partially inspired by Operation Flagship, a famous sting operation in 1985 in which over 100 fugitives were invited to convention center in Washington, DC under the premise of getting free NFL tickets … and then were promptly arrested!

Trap stars Josh Harnett as Cooper, Ariel Donoghue as Riley, Saleka Shyamalan (M. Night’s daughter) as Lady Raven, and features a special guest appearance by Kid Cudi. According to Empire, Shyamalan actually pitched the movie to studies as: “What if The Silence Of The Lambs happened at a Taylor Swift concert?” Who could say no to that! Warner Bros. couldn’t. Trap now in theaters.
