The LA Art Show is back with a special summer edition July 29-August 1. For three glorious days you can wander thru more than 150,000 square feet of exhibit space in the West Hall of the LA Convention Center representing national and international galleries. Talk to fellow art enthusiasts, meet the artists, chat with gallery owners, learn about the new technology, and simply enjoy seeing all the art in person. The Show continues to be a strong supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and this year 15% of all ticket sales will benefit the charity.
The largest section of the show features Modern + Contemporary exhibits showcasing the vast spectrum of painting, illustrations, sculpture, mixed media and more from galleries in LA and all over the world. Get ready to be amazed as this year’s show offers unique programming to highlight the newest and most interesting and most talked about advancements in art including AR (augmented reality), VR (virtual reality), and NFT’s (non-fungible tokens/cryptoArt). Vellum LA, the first physical gallery for NFT-backed digital art in LA, presents Sea Change, works by new media and digital artists, in partnership with SuperRare. The Vellum artwork will be exhibited on LumaCanvas displays designed to be the first ever collector/museum-grade digital art display canvases.
Returning for a second year is DIVERSEartLA curated by Marisa Caichiolo and focusing on the contributions of women and non-binary artists at the intersection of art, science, and technology. The most anticipated contribution to DIVERSE is performance artist Tiffany Trends who will be bringing a safe interactive viewing experience for attendees via QR code. The show offers a number of stellar exhibit areas: European Pavilion: Stylistic works from Europe’s top galleries; Works on Paper: photography and non-traditional canvases; Ink: showing the broad spectrum of ink as a medium; and Roots: for attendees hoping to see works by celebrated artists from the past, head to the Roots space where Renoir, Manet, Cassatt, Rockwell, Hassam and N.C.
